Utility infielder Gene Corbett was “dressed to the nines” with this 1936-1937 Phillies #22 game-worn jersey. This cream-colored wool button-down home apparel reveals extensive game usage along with multiple moth holes on the right breast, sleeve and near the numbers on the reverse. This historic fabric also contains moderate soiling throughout that does not attractive from the overall visual appeal. The cursive red against blue Phillies logo and numbers on the reverse reveal negligible fraying. The Spalding size 42 tag is firmly intact, while the infielder’s identity is confirmed through pink chain-stitching on the collar. The shirt has all the proper tags and markings, consistent with known examples from the period.
