In 1970, Jim Bunning returned to the Philadelphia Phillies and over the next two seasons collected the last seventeen victories of his Hall of Fame career. Presented is a unique combination of Bunning's apparel from those two aforementioned seasons. The first item is Bunning's #14 Phillies game-worn white with red pinstripes home jersey from the 1970 season. The artifact retains its original embroidered team logo on the front and #14 on back. The original Wilson Size 44 tag and stitched ”1970 Set 2” is located on the shirttail, and "Bunning" is stitched into collar with the name “Christenson” written beneath it. Larry Christensen apparently wore this same jersey at spring training in 1972. The jersey shows mild game-usage and is an incredible Hall of Famer piece. Also included is a pair of 1971 pants worn by Bunning during his final season. The original Wilson Size 36 tag and stitched ”Bunning '71 – 28” Set 2” is located on the interior waistband. The pants shows mild wear with only light soiling present. The final piece to this eclectic collection is a pair of vintage Phillies stir-ups worn by Bunning. The shirt and pants have all the proper tags and markings consistent with known examples from the period.
